Soundbar 3.1 with wireless subwoofer

Easy to set up sound and bass are great I have added 2 play fi speakers for even more emersive sound very happy with this soundbar.

I just upgraded my soundbar as my previous one wasn't connecting particularly well with my new OLED TV. Only used it today but the sound and power from this is second to none for the price and is far more superior to previous soundbar I've had.

I purchased this product along with one of their TV's a while ago but only recently did I try and upgrade the system to a full surround sound with the addition of two TAW6205 with their wireless technology. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. If this is something you were hoping would be expandable to a full surround sound you will be bitterly disappointed. They continuously full out of sync and at no point did they even create a surround sound set up with the software creating an error every single time. Everything was running the latest firmware and everything in the system was rebooted and updated multiple times. This individual speaker is okay, Atmos or surround sound is a myth from it though and basically makes your tv a little louder with some more bass. To be perfectly honest you could more than likely get the same results from a couple of £50 speakers from amazon.

This sound bar is really good. I tried a number of different makes and models, and this has hands down the best bass and "room filling" sound I could find at this price point. However... it doesn't support DTS sound. Which is the standard sound on most Blurays and 4K Discs. This means that when you try to watch a movie on disc, you end up with a very tinny stereo only sound with no bass, that just sounds dreadful. Even trying to find a disc player that will attempt to convert the sound to a compatible Dolby version is almost impossible. Also, I have had big issues with various connected systems - the Uk satellite system constantly drops the sound on this and you have restart it (even drops when you fast forward the program!), popular tvs have issues handshaking - with the EARC trying to connect, before the screen flashes and it goes to ARC only - and then drops out randomly. Firmware patches dont seem to help, and the Philips helpdesk just say it must be something else. So sadly, despite the great sound, I couldn't recommend this - and would not suggest getting this unless you don’t intend to watch any movies, and don’t mind having to restart on a regular basis.

I bought this soundbar along with a Philips play-fi speaker to create a surround sound system. Not a chance of that happening. The Philips and play-fi apps keep crashing, the surround sound never works despite being set up correctly (the test tone works) but there's never any surround sound despite using a Dolby Atmos source, the surround speaker just hisses and overhead Atmos effects are non-existent. The soundbar is too loud even at it's lowest setting, the subwoofer is either all or nothing - without it the sound is very hollow and tinny, with it it's too boomy and annoying with the woofer intermittently cutting in with indisciplined deep thuds. Every time the bar is powered up it defaults to Volume level 4, which is quite loud, especially for night time use. 2 x firmware updates done, resets and reboots done and play-fi surround still won't work. Overall, I think the speakers in my TV sound better. I'm so disappointed because on paper this soundbar and the play-fi capability look great, but in reality it's very underwhelming and riddled with glitches. Avoid.
