Philips AventDECT baby monitor

I was completely lost when coming to buy a monitor...there's so many to choice from but this one is so simple and easy to use, it gives me peace of mind and I couldn't live without it!

We were very impressed with this product. There is so little background hiss that we had to be convinced that it was actually working. It's also small and sleek making it a smart addition to the nursery.

Im pretty satisfied with the baby monitor, the only problem is that the range of 300m is not possible, ours reaches a maximum of 100m (and thats on the window sill, not through walls etc.). Otherwise, its a good product and I strongly recommend it.

This is great, we use it as a second monitor for downstairs as we have a video one upstairs. It is very quick and easy to set up.

We were very happy with this product for the first, approx, 8 months, then it started to have a buzz about it when unplugged from the mains. The buzz covers over any other small noises audible like a ticking clock or a baby murmur. The buzz is not consistant or predictable, often it happens and sometimes it does not. The buzz is irritating and is made 10x worse and more like a clicking when plugged back in after running down its charge a little. The worsened buzzing continues until it has reached a certain charge level, which is annoying when you are trying to go to sleep! It is a good monitor but obviously has a short shelf life.

The 330 metre range boast of this product wasnt the case with us. We had it set up between our main house and a garden lodge, 60 metres apart, straight line of sight and only two windows between the units. We frequently had to re-position the handheld monitor when it "bleeped" to tell us it had lost contact with the base station, very annoying when it happens at 2 a.m. Other than that, the sound quality is great, no interference whatsoever. Very easy to set up and use.

Was given this as a present and wished I exchanged it... batteries run out after a couple of hours use (baby is in bed by 7pm parents go to bed around 10pm and in this time the batteries would no longer work) The adaptor will not work unless batteries are in the monitor which makes no sense at all makes this function invalid. The monitor also picks up alot of interference which makes it difficult to hear baby
