Series 5000Glass Kettle - light, 1.7 litre

I purchased this kettle to replace my older one that had started to cut off before reaching boiling temperature. After trying another make which lasted three boils and then failed (causing the main circuit breaker to blow) I chose this one. So glad that I did. It makes boiling water so easy, and unlike my last one doesn't spill water everywhere. It boils water fast, and is stylish and easy to keep clean

A really nice-looking kettle that is easy to use and clean / descale. Three improvements I would recommend to Philips: 1) I bought this glass kettle to avoid plastic, and yet the lid is made of ... plastic 2) It's only a 2kW kettle so it takes longer to boil than the 3kW I would have preferred 3) when the kettle boils it takes ages to turn off automatically, wasting energy
